Thoughts on Interior Design Trends 2017

6th January 2017
interior design trends 2017

Perhaps this post is a little more about setting intentions for myself in 2017 rather than interior design trends 2017, but being exposed to interior design on a global level and especially in London, I feel like I’m well placed to put into words what I’ve seen changing in the wider interior design marketplace as well as able to interpret trends from the many conversations that I’ve had with interior designers. This post is a little bit different from traditional…

Through a series of short interviews we got to find out about what Laura and Aaron do in their design business. The London Sofa by FBC London

19th December 2016

During a private tour of the Pimlico Road Design District last week I was introduced to the team at FBC London. Their shop on Pimlico Road is filled with a carefully edited collection that represents the FBC design ethos. From beautiful ceramics, to furniture, vases, incredible lighting and a lot more, but there’s one piece in particular that I locked eyes on, the London Sofa. This sofa has the perfect curves, just enough to make it feel contemporary, but still functional.…

Interior Style Hunter & friends share our favourite gifts to give in 2016

9th December 2016

It’s that time of the year when we’re all looking for a bit of inspiration as what gifts to give during the festive season. So I contacted a few interior designers and style influencers to ask them to join me in suggesting a really great gift. There’s something quite substantial about these Silver Bookends, they would fit very well into a contemporary or classic office. The silver would add a glint of light when your eye scans the room, and…

Interior Style Hunter Interviews Interior Designer Keith Baltimore

1st December 2016
keith-baltimore interior design interview

Keith Baltimore is an award winning interior designer. He set up Baltimore Design Group over 25 years ago, and has gone on to create a successful business and brand. His designs are classic and elegant, and I particularly love the way that he uses scale in his projects, something which I’ve noticed that US designers are particularly good at. I was really excited at the opportunity to interview Keith. Do enjoy. What is your design signature/style? There is no set…

Top Designers Share Their Master Bedroom Interior Design Ideas

28th November 2016
salvesen graham master bedroom interior design ideas

Our master bedrooms are our inner sanctuary and very private spaces. It’s not often that you get to see inside someone else’s master bedroom and quite rightly so. I love to think about a master bedroom as an intensely private space that you share with your partner and perhaps children. You should feel quite liberated when designing your master bedroom, as the only person you need to keep happy here is you. But as always, it’s good to get some…

Ellie Cashman Dutch Old Master Inspired Floral Wallpaper

17th November 2016
ellie_cashman

Inspired by the still life painters of the Dutch Golden Age, Ellie Cashman has produced a truly inspiring collection of bold and yet somehow calming range of floral wallpaper. I can of course see the connection to those great paintings that inspired Cashman. A few years ago when I was in the Rijksmuseum I had the chance to see these works up close and personal and they have a calming effect on you, even though the subject might not be so…
