A unique space demands a unique solution. FORMstudio were challenged with turning a redundant and impractical office building in a home.

The solution was to create a staircase with rooms in this small triangular shaped building. Each floor has just 1 room and all 6 levels are joined together with this unique staircase.

It’s a very intelligent solution to this particular space. In London, where so many buildings have unusual floorplans, it’s great that architects like FORMstudio are open to solving challenges like this.

It’s an unusual way to live, with one room on each floor, but the benefit of living in a space like this is that you get to live with beautiful architecture.flatiron house

Having unusually shaped rooms adds to the interior design element of living in this unique space. The designer has maximised the use of the floor space to ensure that each level is as functional as possible.flatiron house

One of the best parts of this building is the roof terrace. Having a rooftop terrace is a really special feature in a big city. It’s a place to unwind, disconnect, relax and see the calmer side of the city 5 floors up.flatiron house
