It’s that time of the year when we’re all looking for a bit of inspiration as what gifts to give during the festive season. So I contacted a few interior designers and style influencers to ask them to join me in suggesting a really great gift.
There’s something quite substantial about these Silver Bookends, they would fit very well into a contemporary or classic office. The silver would add a glint of light when your eye scans the room, and the inlaid wooden diamonds add a soft accent. Manufactured in the 1950’s, it’s a very cool way to give a vintage piece some renewed love by gifting it to a design connoisseur.
Since Dior Maison opened in London earlier this year, I’ve been obsessed with the collaborations that Dior have done. This mouth blown Filigrane vase by Jeremy Maxwell Wintrebert is a very beautiful gift for someone who appreciates the stylish Dior aesthetic.
Dior Filigrane Vase, £1300, available from the boutique at 160-162 New Bond Street, London, W1S 2UE
For those of us with houseplants, you will of course know that a watering can is essential tool, although I do know someone who uses a teacup to water her plants. But as this is Christmas and we love to talk about luxury design, how about upping the style factor of your utilitarian watering can, and investing in design and beauty of the Vivero Watering Can. Made of brass and decent size at 38cm tall, it’s worth adding to your list.
Vivero Watering Can, £91
I recently bought myself one of these fantastic little writing folders. The folder is perfect for meetings, it holds an A5 notebook, pen, and there’s space for your business cards too. Perfectly smart, stylish and holds everything you need for a successful meeting.
Two of my favourite materials, carrara marble and brass, come together in one of my favourite products, a table lamp, in the form of the Catherine Lamp. This lamp, clearly inspired by the middle of the 20th century is a real statement piece. Sustainability also plays a part here; “The Catherine table lamp is designed around a cylindrical shade salvaged from a defunct lighting factory. It has a base made of salvaged carrara marble and a support made of precisely machined brass.”
Catherine Lamp, £690

I have many favourite gifts to give, everyone gives candles, so I love to give wick trimmers and candle snuffers, which is such an elegant gift to give.

I’ve chosen this 2kg dumbbell from Linley as my preferred gift. Beautifully carved in walnut, with sterling silver details, it not only reflects the understated luxury that is Linley but, as an avid gym/goer, is also close to my heart (or more accurately my bicep)! Both aesthetically pleasing and masculine, this would make a very smart addition to any gentleman’s desk.
Dumbbell Paperweight, £85

My favourite gift to give to friends and family is a fabulous candle. I feel like receiving a beautifully designed and scented candle is such a luxury and something that we all love to have in our homes. Diptyque is usually my go to candle brand for gifts and I love the Baies scent!

I will be giving custom monogrammed blind embossed stationery correspondence cards to everybody this Christmas- even the children- my pony crazy niece is getting a horse beneath her monogramm for example and my children fun shaped colourfully edged cards.
I am crazy about custom stationery and all things monogrammed – it always adds a personal touch to any present- even the boxes it comes in can be personalised with a Christmas message and the recipients name – it doesn’t get more special than that!

Fornasetti is my all-time favourite brand. Every year I ask for a new candle to add to my collection and this year the Losanghe gold candle is on my list. It features the smoky Fornasetti signature scent ‘Otto’ perfect for the festive season. The Vessels themselves are beautiful and make the perfect addition to any dressing table or shelf.
