I regularly talk about interior design, interior design brands and interior designers here on Interior Style Hunter. But there are many other interiors related businesses that I come across daily in the industry, one such profession is interior styling.
For those not entirely clear on the difference between interior designers and interior stylists; think about fashion designers and fashion stylists. Stylists work with existing products and designs to style and enhance a space whilst designers create products from scratch.
The purpose of interior styling is that often people have an eye for design and a nice selection of interiors items in their home or property but have little clue as to how to put it all together cohesively or how to maximise the space and style, this is where stylists exceed. They make a space completely Instagram worthy!
Some stylists also turn their hand to Property Staging. This is something that is relatively new to the UK market and where interior stylists can really see benefits from their work. It’s similar to styling however it is focused on the property sales market. Estate agents and landlords often hire a staging company to ‘dress’ the property in order to showcase it in the best light for potential buyers.
One particular team of stylists and property stagers that I have got to know quite well are Kate and Chloe from EHG Home. EHG Home are a boutique styling agency based in West London and work throughout London and the home counties. They are well known within the industry for their ‘laid back luxury’ approach and amazing collection of internationally sourced furniture and accessories. Because of their unique in-house collection they have something different to offer and really turn houses into homes with a personality.
They have many years of experience, a tight knit team and a wonderful personal approach to each project that lands on their desk, as well as a vast portfolio of some great work. As I’m a very visual person this is what initially caught my eye. Each project is individually styled but it’s still clear what their style is and this is so important when appointing a staging company. It’s so easy to have a ‘lack lustre’ approach when not dealing with an end client per se, but EHG inject real energy and love into their projects and it’s clear from their images and the clients and estate agents they work with.
EHG Home also offer a range of property services such as seasonal styling and room refreshes. They also have a relocation service which is great when moving to a new country and a comfortable and beautiful home is needed in a tight time frame.
