To mark the 25th anniversary since MUJI opened their first store in London, the iconic Japanese brand is holding a poster exhibition at 21 Slingsby Place in Covent Garden, showcasing the visual evolution of the brand. The exhibition runs for 6 days and MUJI have invited 6 bloggers to style the gallery window, each having 1 day to showcase our visual thoughts of the brand.
I travel a lot and I’m a big believer in rituals, they keep me calm amongst a frantic world. When I get to my destination, I have a ritual of unpacking my luggage and I wanted to share this with the world through my MUJI window. You’ll see an open suitcase, some items spilling out and over the table. These items are a mix of 5 iconic MUJI products and my own personal items that accompany me on my travels.
My precious travel journal sits in the centre of the table, this of course, is where I take my notes for my blog posts and articles. The pen in the acrylic case is one that my mother gave me for my birthday and I consider this to be my lucky pen and I use it to sign all my business contracts.
My flamboyant eyemask, “Wake me up for Champagne” is a recent find on my trip to South Africa. It perfectly sums up my sense of humour and love of decadence, the champagne and straws play up my enormous sense of joy and fun.
The window is only up for today – Thursday 20th October, and tomorrow, Holly Becker, from Decor8 will be showing us her MUJI window.
