5 things I want for Christmas from OKA

5 things I want for Christmas from OKA

OKA

If I wanted to spoil myself a bit this Christmas, I would head to OKA. They have always got so much to choose from in their stores, quality is great and prices really good too, but most of all – the design is classic. These pieces will last. And they are pieces that you will use and re-use throughout your home for many seasons to come.

I went along to OKA and chose 5 things that I would buy for myself for Christmas – or put on a gift list.

Adding elements of nature into your home help to ‘ground’ the feeling of a room. I like these colourful agate slices. On their own or in a small collection, you can showcase them on a windowsill to let the light shine through them, or add them to a bookshelf to create interest.

Agate stone on stand, from £26.

Hurricane lamps are perfect for Christmas, you can fill them with candles, flowers, plants or other interesting decor pieces. These versatile lamps make a great display when used outdoors in the summer.

Hurricane Lamps, £99

This is an unusual candle holder made from brass, and fashioned into willow branches. It’s quite a wieghty piece and when you have a candle inside it burning, it really looks great. The brass helps to reflect the light from the candle, it makes quite a display.

Tortured willow candle holder, £129.

This set of prints reminded me of the prints that I used in a room set for Christie’s. Using botanical prints – in this case exotic fruits, adds an instant gallery to your home, and introduces a lot of colour for you to use throughout the room. These prints come mounted, glazed and framed in distressed, black painted wooden frames.

Framed exotic fruit prints, set of 8, £225.

Large oversized lamps and lighting is my thing, I can’t finish a room without a large lamp. The Tupelo table lamp is a big splash of green that would work in most rooms. The honeycomb effect finish helps to deflect light too, making the lamp really look gorgeous when lit up.

Tupelo table lamp, £320.
