A couple of weeks ago my team was invited to a photoshoot by interior stylists EHG Home. Kate Haynes is the founder of EHG Home and has a very strong signature style. You might see her images pop up on my Instagram account every now and then. For Christmas this year, Kate has come up with some fabulous new ideas to help make your decor that little bit more exciting.
Starting with using your favourite colour, Kate used blue as the base of her palette and then added in mixed metals. This adds glamour and a festive feeling to the scene. I think the biggest change up here is doing away with the Christmas tree and instead using this fabulous Ostrich Feather lamp by A Modern Grand Tour. I’ve seen lots of people styling up their homes without the traditional Christmas tree, but this is so fabulous, replacing it with a £3k floor lamp and dangling silver stars from it!
You probably won’t want your own house to be as coordinated as this, but note how Kate’s wrapping paper matches her overall scheme. I do quite like that idea, but know that my family and especially nephews won’t be happy being told to wrap everything in blue to work with the scheme.
Heading over to the lunch table, I love how Kate has added little fairy lights and candles to the scheme. Lighting is absolutely key for any occasion and this is definitely something that you can do very easily in your own space.
