I’m very happy to announce that Holiday House is coming to London! This popular US concept of a designer showhouse is finally going to be gracing our shores. Founded in 2008 by Iris Dankner, the London event will be co-chaired by interior designer Rachel Laxer and breast cancer survivor and philanthropist Joyce Misrahi, and I’m heading up the Marketing for the project.
The London team, Iris, Rachel, Joyce and myself, together with a very large committee of over 20 people who are the finest in the field have an incredible showhouse planned for you to come and see later this year.
For those of you who don’t know what a designer showhouse is, let me tell you a bit more. Each room in the house will be designed by a different designer. It means that for the first time you get to experience the work of some of the UK’s top interior designers which is usually locked away behind private doors. Together with some incredible brands who are supporting us, you also get to see furniture, accessories, fabrics, joinery, rugs, art and much more in situ in a professionally designed space.
So if you’re passionate about interior design or just curious, then this will be the show for you to attend in September.
Holiday House will be raising funds for the prevention and cure of breast cancer. Proceeds from all ticket sales benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF). A breast cancer survivor herself, Iris has made it her mission to raise funds for research and to support women who need help fighting the disease, whilst bringing together the design industry.
In London, the funds raised will be specifically granted to research programs in the UK only. BCRF is committed to funding scientific research to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. In 2016, Holiday House reached the $1 million mark in funds raised for BCRF since 2012.
Iris says of the upcoming exhibition, “this is my tenth year of creating Holiday House events, and I’m thrilled to be introducing all of the beauty and inspiration that these show houses offer to London. We have received so much enthusiasm from UK based designers and design companies as this event will be the first of its kind in the market. The Committee and I are incredibly excited about the launch of Holiday House London and hope that London design enthusiasts enjoy touring exquisitely outfitted townhouses and taking away home decor ideas from some of the most talented designers in the business.”
I’ll be sharing more about our project the closer we get to the end of the year. In the meantime, follow Holiday House on Instagram to keep us with our news.
