I’ve seen Retro Remix, the new colour forecast by Dulux Australia popping up all over the web. It’s a bold new version of the colour blocking trend that we saw a few years ago. Dulux Retro Remix trend has more emphasis on strong geometric shapes and clashing colours from the 60’s and 70’s.
Taking inspiration from the 60’s and 70’s when colour and pattern began to appear in our homes and products were starting to be made in new materials such as plastic. This trend takes inspiration from this fun and exciting time, but looking at it with fresh eyes and a modern more youthful approach.
It’s definitely a bold look and choosing a colour palette would be a challenge, but this is where companies like Dulux are great as they create palettes that take out the guess work for you. However these trends are not only about paint, you can still use this colour palette for your accessories. Adding bold coloured accessories to your home is a great way to freshen up your home for the summer.
I picked out a few pieces that would go well with this trend and fit easily into existing design schemes.
